| Description |
Glyceraldehyde-3-Phosphate Dehydrogenase catalyzes the oxidation of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate to 1,3-diphosphoglycerate. It is a key enzyme in the glycolysis pathway. It is closely related to the gluconeogenesis pathway, the maintenance of blood glucose concentration in the body, and the occurrence of diabetes. 3-Phosphoglycerate kinase catalyzes the production of 1,3 diphosphoglycerate from 3-phosphoglycerate and ATP.GAPDH reversely catalyzes 1,3-diphosphoglycerate and NADH to produce 3-phosphoglyceraldehyde, inorganic phosphorus and NAD. The decrease of NADH measured at 340nm can reflect the level of GADPH activity. |
